Governor Alex Ott has declared Abia State as one of the safest destinations to live in and travel to, attributing the achievement to the dedication of security agencies operating across the state.
Speaking at the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day in Umuahia, the Governor said Abia has transitioned from years of anxiety to a new era of peace and stability, driven by strong collaboration between the state government and security institutions.
He commended the leadership of the armed forces, police, and other security agencies for what he described as their “unyielding resolve” to protect lives and property in both urban and rural communities.
According to Otti, the improved security situation has had a positive ripple effect on the state’s economy, particularly in the reactivation of farmlands and other previously dormant resources.
The Governor assured security personnel of continued government support, pledging to provide the necessary tools and welfare structures required to maintain law and order across Abia State.
