Students in Abia North under the auspices of Abia North Students Association (ANSA) have commended the Senator representing the district, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu for granting multi-million naira scholarships for their colleagues.
The beneficiaries who weeks ago departed Nigeria are to study Medicine and Surgery in a foreign university.
The students in a commendation letter signed by its President, Idika Michael, appreciated Sen. Kalu the Senate Chief Whip and former governor of Abia State for his developmental strides across the senatorial district, assuring him of their continuous support.
The statement read in part, “I write on behalf of the Abia North Students Association-National (ANSA) to specially commend you for the opportunity given to four (4) Abia North students to study in South America at the Venezuela’s prestigious University, Latinoamerican Medical School-Escuela.
“Also, I want to specially remark on your efforts in repositioning Abia North since you came on board as our Senator, specifically your efforts in the education sector which has earned our students’ various educational materials and support.
“Your Excellency, you have always been guided by the philosophy of a true Public Officer through your high sense of dedication, selflessness, and integrity, which you brought to bear in your Public Service career, especially as our Senator.
“While being convinced that your brilliance and zeal would make you excel in your future endeavors, please be assured of the continuous support of students of your constituency, as might be required.”
Five beneficiaries of the scheme sponsored by Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation who recently depart Nigeria include, Favour Chimeremeze Chukwu, Tukur Ana’s Ahmad, Ikenna Marvellous Kanu-Ubah, Chika Onwuka Mark and Prince Kingseed Chiziterem.
The foundation is to fully take charge of the cost of their education, accommodation, and feeding within the period of their university education.
