A foremost socio-political group championing the interests of Abia North Senatorial District, Abia North Peace Foundation (ANOF), has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for nominating Barrister Neya Uzor-Kalu as one of Nigeria’s new non-career ambassadors.

In a statement issued on Friday by its Director-General, Chief Nnanna Ukaegbu, the Foundation described the nomination as a “well-considered recognition of capacity, character, and national service.”

Chief Ukaegbu commended President Tinubu for identifying Neya Kalu, daughter of former Abia State Governor and serving Senator, Orji Uzor Kalu as a competent professional capable of representing Nigeria on the global stage.

“The Abia North Peace Foundation expresses profound appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for this honour done to Abia North. Barrister Neya Kalu’s nomination is a testament to her leadership qualities, business acumen, and strong humanitarian values,” the statement read.

The Foundation noted that Neya Kalu has distinguished herself as a lawyer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and Chairman of The Sun Publishing Company, adding that her nomination has brought pride and visibility to Abia North.

Chief Ukaegbu further stated that the ANPF is confident she will excel in her duties and bring honour to Nigeria once confirmed by the Senate.

“We are proud of her achievements and are certain she will represent our nation with grace, diplomacy, and excellence. This nomination shows that merit and service are still being recognised at the highest levels,” he added.

The ANPF congratulated Neya Kalu and encouraged her to remain committed to the values of nation-building, community development, and humanitarian service that have defined her public engagement over the years.

The group also prayed for her successful confirmation and effective stewardship in the service of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
