For diligently working for his people within his three year tenure at the Senate, Senator representing Abia North, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has been told by electorates of Isuochi in Umunneochi Local Government Area to be rest assured about winning his re-election saying that his victory in the February 25th elections will not only be massive but “seamless” and “hassle free”.
Having pursued legislative actions in their interest and erected numerous critical infrastructures in their council areas the constituents told Kalu , the Senate Chief Whip that he had done majority of the work to win the election while pledging to play their own part by voting massively in favour of the All Progressive’s Congress candidate (APC).
Hundreds of elated constituents gave their words of allegiances to Kalu on Sunday when he advanced to their wards to consult with them on his ongoing ward-to-ward tour. Community stakeholders composed of President Generals, Political Organisations, Elders, Youth groups who spoke on behalf of the people at all the wards visited endorsed Kalu’s re-election bid.
Kalu was warmly received at: Umuaku Ward 1, Umuaku Ward 2,Mbala / Achara Ward, Amuda Ward, Mbato Ward, Uhuologhu/Umudim/Agulato, Ezingodo Ward, Obinolu/Obiagu/Lomara Ward and Amorie Ward.
During an engagement at Umuaku Ward 1, where Kalu first arrived, Umunneochi Reality Organisation Chairman, Eke Chukwujekwu who was represented by Uche Sunday appreciated the Senate Chief Whip for renovating the formerly dilapidated Classroom block at Umuaku Central School.
Eke also mentioned other projects done by Kalu ; “The Senate under your precedence has been beneficial to us, your works as Governor and Senator speaks for itself like the renovation of 1 Classroom block at Ngodo State Primary School Ngodo Isuochi, you don’t have to say much because your projects has done the talking, be rest assured that our votes are for you only “.
President General of Umuobasi Development Union Mr. Ogbuefi I.K. spelt out additional projects done by Kalu describing the Lawmaker as a gift to the people. He cited the construction of the Umuaku road and the provision and installation of solar street lights in select communities in Umunneochi which he said has assisted in tackling insecurity and boosting economic activities.
Prime Minister of the ward Ichie Oluchukwu Ohama, assured Kalu that his victory in the entire wards of Isuochi will be massive and intact, urging the Senator to relax as he goes about his re-electioneering activity; “The report card is there for all to see and it has proven your competence to double it when you return , the bulk of the job is left for us your people to reciprocate your gesture through our votes. Kalu remains our very own, there are few people who are intimidated by his works in our communities but with God he shall overcome them”.
President General of Isi- obinolu community, Chief Bishop Egbim said that Kalu has shown beyond every reasonable doubt his capacity to do more when reelected. Egbim listed some roads facilitated by Kalu; ” That he as done well is an understatement, for a first time Senator hebhas done exceedingly well we have seen projects like the construction of : 1km rural road at Ubahu,1km rural road, Amauba Obulo, Umunneochi LGA and 1km rural road, umueze to umudim. He needs not worry because he’s reelection is assured”.
Additional endorsements were granted to Kalu at Uhuologhu through its President General Donatus Offor who spoke of Kalu’s impacts in the area of empowerment. He recalled how Kalu gave out sewing machines and farm implements to constituents. According to him the Senator’s return bid was a done deal.
Similarly, Duke Umunneochi, Ugochukwu Ezekwesiri appreciated Kalu for the provision of a motorised borehole, Obinisi Village Square, Amuda which has said has been beneficial to them while pledging the resolve of his residents of the local government to vote enormously in Kalu’s favour.
Prime Minister for Mbala/Achara Ward Ichie Oluchukwu Ohama disclosed the adoption of Kalu as the Sole candidate for Isuochi wards , he named tangible infrastructures expedited in their respective wards. He however made an appeal for the construction of the broken down Mmami Bridge which connects them to Orji River (Enugu state).
Umunneochi Chairman OUK Movement, Offor Basil reiterated the resolve of the entire wards to ensure that Kalu emerges victorious seamlessly. He revealed that independent campaign groups have since been formed and commenced intensive awareness on the need to reelect Kalu.
At the home of prominent community stakeholder Chief Sir. Etomchukwu Alaekwe where Kalu and his team members where hosted alongside community leaders , the Senate Chief Whip appreciated the pledges of reelection assurances he has received.
A Women Leader, Orunwa Egenia attested to their children receiving Educational support and learning materials from Kalu , she noted the women were fully on ground to mobilise voters for Senator’s re-election.
Kalu spoke of his intent to do more when he returns to office; “God in his mercy brings leaders of his choice. My return to the Senate is for the interest of the community, they need me more because of what I can do. I’m a special Senator and I’m a very successful businessman.
On the requests made by some wards, Kalu said that immediate action would be taken to reconstruct the Mmami Bridge and he asked the constituents of Amuda Ward to liaise with its Chairman and mention two most important roads they want to be constructed. The Senate Chief Whip also announced the supply of Cassava milling machines to rural farmers within the next two weeks.
He said ” In every ward we have at least 4-5 kilometers of road going on. God made me his working tool. Igbos have a role to play in unity , we should play more roles in uniting Nigerians. Apart from building more infrastructures ,I’ll make a policy for widows, youths and men to thrive better in their economic activities.
