Hon. Maduka Okoro, a media assistant to Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu a former governor of Abia State has said his principal constructed some of the major roads in Abia North and that interventions by the state governor, Alex Otti is for the purpose of rehabilitation.
He said among others, Sen. Kalu currently representing Abia North in the Senate constructed Nunya Road from scratch to finish, insisting that it collapsed because of poor maintenance culture of administrations that came after him.
Speaking with ABN TV in Umuahia on Friday, Hon. Okoro said for 16 years, Abia North did not receive any new investment between 2007-2023.
He therefore praised Gov. Otti for his efforts in ensuring inclusion especially with decision to embark on reconstruction work in Abia North.
He exonerated his principal’s tenure of office from 1999-2007 from years of neglect in Abia, insisting that he did a lot for the people of Abia as their governor.
Okoro highlighted that Sen. Kalu has continued to work as a Senator, same way he worked as governor for eight years, urging the people of Abia North to support the administration of Gov. Otti.
