Abia Media Day 2024: Celebrating Media Icons Frank Fyne, Inyang Okorie, Isiguzo Christopher

Abia Media Day 2024 is set to honor some of the state’s most distinguished media veterans for their outstanding contributions to journalism and broadcasting.

The event, scheduled for December 7, 2024, at Rapha Hotel, Umuahia, will commence at 10 a.m., bringing together media professionals and enthusiasts to celebrate the pioneers who have shaped the media landscape in Abia and beyond.

This year’s honorees include:

  • Chief Frank Ikoro (“Frank Fyne”), a revered broadcaster with over three decades of experience. Known for his captivating presence, he continues to host programs on Reel FM, Aba, showcasing his unwavering dedication to the craft.
  • Mrs. Inyang Okorie, a retired broadcaster from the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State (BCA). Renowned for her impeccable English broadcasting, she remains a beacon of excellence and inspiration in the industry.
  • Chief Isiguzo Ikechukwu Christopher, former National President of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ). With an illustrious career as Bureau Chief for ThisDay Newspaper and six years of transformative leadership at the NUJ, his impact on journalism in Abia and Nigeria is profound.

The event will feature a Morning Summit titled “The Power of Media in Shaping Abia State: Challenges and Opportunities” and conclude with an Evening Industry Nite dedicated to celebrating these trailblazers.
