Abia LG Polls: Again, ABSIEC Vows To Conduct Free, Fair Election

Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC) has again assured Abians of their commitment to providing free, fair, and credible Local Government Elections.

The Chairman (ABSIEC) Prof. Mkpa Agu Mkpa, gave the assurance at the Commission’s headquarters in Umuahia when Vote Count Campaign Organizations paid him a courtesy visit.

The Chairman, who was represented by the Secretary and Legal Adviser, Barr. Tony Mgbarine pledged that the Commission will support and collaborate with Vote Count Campaign Organizations in their bid to sensitize and educate the Masses on the importance of coming out to vote during election.

Earlier in his speech, the President Vote Count Campaign Organization, Comrade Sam Ogoin described the Organization as non-governmental, whose mission is to ensure hitch-free, fair, and credible election ahead of the December 18th, 2020 Local Government Elections in the State.

According to Comrade Ogoin, the aim of Vote Count Campaign Organizations is to ensure that people who are eligible to vote during election not only vote, but that their votes count, emphasized the need for partnership with the Commission and promised to render the needed support to ensure that the votes of Abians Count.

The visit featured a Book presentation, caps, T-shirts, stickers, and fliers by the organization to ABSIEC.

ABSIEC Commissioners were present during the visit.
