The member representing Bende North constituency in Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Chijioke Chukwu has called on Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC) to cancel the exercise in Bende local government area.
The exercise was ongoing at 3 pm on Friday when he spoke with ABN TV.
Chukwu alleged that the material for the exercise was inadequate according to the situation report.
He insisted that as at the moment of this report, there was nothing to suggest that election is taking place in the local government headquarters, insisting that the materials made available for the exercise was not enough to go round.
According to the lawmaker, the APC secretary in the state has got in touch with ABSIEC chairman who acknowledged that the election materials were inadequate.

He further alleged that information available to the party says election materials and result sheets have been sent to PDP candidates in various wards and local governments.
While calling on ABSIEC chairman, Prof. Mkpa Agu Mkpa to cancel the exercise in Bende Local Government Area, he further urged him to reschedule the exercise on a more convenient date when the Commission will be prepared in terms of logistics for the exercise.
Describing Bende local government area as a stronghold of APC, he challenged ABSIEC to conduct a credible election in Bende, alleging that there are plans to write election results in Bende.
He expressed the readiness of APC to participate in the exercise when ABSIEC is ready to conduct the election.
All efforts to reach ABSIEC chairman, Prof. Mkpa Agu Mkpa for comment as at the time of filing this report proved abortive.
