Ogah who now holds a Doctorate Degree said the scheme prepared him for greatness in life, especially at a time his police dad and his mum a teacher did not earn decent salaries to train him in secondary school.

“I can remember vividly, coming back from the North. Stayed back in Awka for a year plus before I came back home to Uturu.

“Got enrolled into Uturu Secondary school Isuikwuato LGA Abia State and enjoyed his free scholarship in my community.

That was a time police officers’ salary was 14,000 and my dad a police officer coupled with my mum a primary school teacher was in a position most Nigerians thought was fiction & detestable as the life of an average civil servant is not funny in this country,” he said.

While thanking former governor Orji Uzor Kalu, now the Senator representing Abia North, Dr. Ogah said that privilege helped him to become a Ph.D. holder in Human Resource Management as at 23rd of September, 2022 in addition with several degrees in other fields.

He continued, “If that Love of his free education was not there, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to be where I am today educationally or will be there in an older age.

“Thank you OUK.

“We need leadership to be redefined and get people with good minds to be in positions of leadership.

“Just like Rivers State under the capable leadership of Nyesom Wike gave me the opportunity to study without strike and finished on time while federal universities and other state Universities are locked down.

“Good leadership is not party restrictive but individual mindset and ideology that is why we have good and bad leaders in all the political parties.

“Leaders need to make life soft for the masses for they are not demanding for much which we have all it takes to give that to the masses with proper management and less greed.”
