The Abia State Government has announced the cancellation of the Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise earlier scheduled to hold on Saturday, December 20, 2025.
The announcement, signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Philemon Asonye Ogbonna, was made public as part of measures for the festive period.
Despite the cancellation, residents have been strongly advised to maintain proper hygiene by cleaning their surroundings homes, offices, markets, and business premises in the interest of public health and environmental safety throughout the season.
The government also clarified that there will be no restriction of movement, stressing that citizens are free to go about their lawful activities, while appreciating the continued cooperation of residents in keeping Abia State clean and healthy.
