Abia Govt Bows To Pressure, Dissolves TC chairmen, Appoints Replacement (Full List)

The Abia state government has bowed to pressure from the Legislature to immediately dissolve the 17 local government Transition Committee chairmen after the expiration of their tenure.

It also announced the appointment new Transition Committee Chairmen.

The Abia Assembly members have in a matter of urgent public importance on Monday resolved to inform the state government to sack the TC chairmen, decrying their continuous stay in office after outliving their tenure limit.

In a release on Tuesday signed by the Chief of Staff to Abia State governor, ACB Agbazuere, he said the governor had approved the dissolution of the Local Government Transition Chairmen and Deputy Chairmen in the State.

“The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Ph.D. has approved the dissolution of the Local Government Transition Chairmen, and Deputy Chairmen in the State and has consequently appointed the following people as Local Government Transition Committee Chairmen and Deputy Chairmen respectively subject to ratification of the State House of Assembly.
