“Abia Deserves Better!” – Creative Designer, Ogbonna Slams Multinationals For Neglecting Local Events

Abia Entrepreneur and Creative Director & Designer at TOSKyme House of Fashion, Mr. Ugomdi Ogbonna vows to lead a revolution against Multinationals over lack of corporate social responsibility.

Mr. Ogbonna, winner of the Outstanding Fashion Entrepreneur award at the 2024 Abia Hospitality Business Awards, has lambasted multinational companies operating in Abia State for their alleged lack of corporate social responsibility.

While receiving his award at the Sugarland Event Center in Aba, Ogbonna criticized these companies for prioritizing Lagos-based events over Abia-based ones.

“You can’t spend N100,000 on an event in Abia, but you can sponsor a comedy show in Lagos with over N100 million,” Ogbonna said. “This insensitivity and heartlessness will soon stop.”

Ogbonna vowed to lead a revolution against these multinationals, emphasizing that Abia residents deserve better.

The Abia Hospitality Business Awards, organized by the Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (Abia State chapter) in collaboration with Oladayco Exquisite Concepts and Logistics, recognizes outstanding contributions to Abia’s hospitality industry.
