Abia CP Decorates Newly Promoted Officers, Assures Electorate Peaceful Atmosphere (PHOTOS)

The Commissioner of Police Abia the command, CP Mustapha Mohammed Bala on Tuesday decorated 6 newly promoted Superintendents of Police who are now Cheif Superintendent.

The police boss also assured residents of the state that his command is ready to guarantee a hitch-free elections on the Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly polls.

Briefing newsmen in Umuahia on Tuesday, CP Mustapha Mohammed Bala said the command in collaboration with sister security agencies in the state are fully prepared to ensure a conducive atmosphere before, during and after the elections.

While urging eligible voters to come out in their large numbers to exercise their franchise, the CP stated that he has put adequate measures in place to protect sensitive and non sensitive materials and as well lives of electoral officials, adhoc workers and electorate.

He said, “The security operatives have been enlightened on their roles within this period and admonished to be apolitical, firm and professional in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities”.

He admonished all candidates of Abia origin, Political parties agent and other party faithful to play according to the specific rules and avoid violent acts.

He also commended the Inspector General of police IGP Alkali Baba Usman for his magnanimity in considering six of his personnel for promotion from the rank of Superintendent to Chief Superintendent of police and the release of a total sum of Eleven Million, Seven hundred and Ninety five thousand, Eight hundred and eighty eight naira, seventy three Kobo, for distribution to next of kins of the deceased officers and men under the group life assurance benefits and IGP family welfare insurance scheme.

He urged the newly promoted officers to make good use of the new rank in service of humanity.

He urged the beneficiaries of the IGP’s largesse to utilize the funds to better their lives and their dependents.

Buku Bulouderemone one of the decorated officers while appreciating the commissioner of police said the new rank is a motivation to discharge his duties more effectively.

Speaking on behalf of the funds beneficiaries Apochi Frances said he has waited for this day over the years since he lost his brother, expressing gratitude to the IGP for the fund which he said will go a long way in alleviating the pains of the family.
