The newly deployed Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Mustapha Mohammed Bala on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Assistant Inspector General of Police in-charge of Zone 9, Umuahia, Isaac Olutayo Akinmoyede along with his management team.
The CP said he came to the zonal headquarters as courtesy and protocol demand. He said he visited the AIG to obtain his fatherly blessings and tap from his Professional wealth of experience in order to succeed in his new assignments as he set out gallantly.
The PRO in charge of the zone, SP J.Y Ini-Obong quoted the CP as promising to carry all necessary/relevant Strategic stakeholders along including his colleagues, the government and good people of Abia State and visitors alike with humility, fairness without biase.
The release added, “In his usual fatherly magnanimity, the 21st Zonal AIG, Isaac Olutayo Akinmoyede, psc, fdc, MNIM thanked and warmly welcomed the August Visitor, CP MM Bala and his entourage for the honour done him and expressed optimism that the CP will succeed, exstolling Bala’s Sterling qualities which he noted while being previledged to have worked as CP with him then in Imo State Command,
“The new CP was richly blessed with words of encouragements, professional advice/guidance… Administratively, Strategically and Operationally as well as with the AIG’s firm commitment to give him all necessary supports/cooperation within his limited powers and resources as peace in all Commands under his watch… including Abia, Ebonyi and Imo States respectively means well for the overall security well-being of the Zone 9 considering the general security reality in the context of South-East geo-political Zone of the country currently.
“The AIG reteirated the cordial relationship between his Command’s Commissioners, including the just promoted and transferred out to Police Staff College, Jos, AIG Janet Agbede.
“Specifically and as a matter of priority, the AIG tasked the new CP on the importance of emplacement of adequate and proactive Security measures around the State CID in view of the reoccurring incidents of attacks in recent times especially as “EMBER Months” and Political activities are increasing daily.
“AIG Akinmoyede also harps on constant and continuous trainings and retraining programs through courses and lectures to proactively prepare the officers/men of the Force adequately to enable them to always leave up to the expectations anytime duties called upon them, particularly the knowledge of the expected police duties/responsibilities and limitations before, during and even after Elections and every other assignments….the knowledge of the relevant enabling extant laws as applicable, including the Constitution, Police Act & Regulations, the Electoral Acts etc must be properly acquainted with accordingly!”
