Ahead of the Saturday Aba North/South federal constituency of Abia state bye-election, a chieftain of APC in the state, Chief Ndukwe Ikoh has drummed support for candidate of the party, Hon. Mascot Uzor Kalu, describing him as a square peg in a square hole.
According to Chief Iko, the former Chief of Staff possesses the connection to change the face of Aba infrastructure and bring meaningful development to the people of the state.
Speaking with ABN TV on Wednesday, he said a vote for Mascot Kalu will provide a link between the federal constituency and the APC-led federal government which he said will enhance the people’s living and further bring them to the centre of decision-making in the country.
“Aba has for a long time grappled with under development and deficit in infrastructure. The Saturday election presents the people of the federal constituency with opportunity to take their destiny into their hands.
“If you go to Abia North where APC produced the majority of the representatives, virtually everywhere is a construction site. This cannot be extricated from the fact that they have a cordial relationship with the centre.
“Aba North/South federal constituency can enjoy the success story of Abia North if they massively vote for Hon. Mascot Uzor Kalu in the election. He is a tested hand who has held public office and proved his integrity. Of all candidates in the election, he visibly stands out” he said.
Chief Iko also appealed to electorate to stand up against intimidation and harassment and defend their votes.
The Aba North/South federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives became vacant following the death of the former occupant, Hon. Ossy Prestige.
