The Abia State House of Assembly has resolved to write the Department of State Security Services (DSS) the Nigerian Police Force over its decision to suspend the Deputy Speaker, Hon Ifeanyi Uchendu, and eight other members of the House.
The suspended members had earlier on Tuesday announced the impeachment of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, a decision the embattled Speaker said is a “charade”.
He later presided over a plenary in the Assembly complex, suspending his deputy and eight others.
