The Abia State House of Assembly has Today Wednesday 22nd November ,2023 Screened and confirmed High-Chief Victor Ikeji, Kpakpando-Umuahia Gburugburu as the Transition Committee Chairman/Mayor designate of Umuahia North LGA.
During the screening at the hallow chamber of the Abia legislature, the three lawmakers from Umuahia North; The Deputy-Speaker, Rt. Hon. Okezie Augustine Nmeregini, Hon. Barr. Anderson Kelechi Akaliro and Hon. Chinasa Anthony Abiola all supported his nomination during the screening.
The Deputy-Speaker who described Chief Ikeji as an astute administrator, thanked the governor, Dr. Alex Otti for his nomination. He adduced that the announcement of his nomination was greeted by jubilation by his constituents. He expressed confidence in Chief Ikeji’s ability to provide credible and developmental leadership in Umuahia North.
On his part, Hon. Akaliro, the member representing Chief Ikeji’s constituency said, the nominee is well known to him. And the entire people of Ohuhu whom he represents supports his nomination.
Hon. Abiola, the member representing Umuahia Central State Constituency, also appreciated the governor for appointing a man like Chief Ikeji to run the affairs of Umuahia North LGA. He expressed confidence, that Chief Ikeji will not disappoint. He joined his other colleagues from Umuahia North LGA to affirm the solidarity of his constituents as regards his nomination.
Also screened today is the deputy Transition Committee nominee for Umuahia North LGA, Mr. Okechukwu Anthony Amah and the transition committee chairmen and deputies nominee from other LGAs in Abia except the nominee for Isiala-South who is currently not in the country.
