The 184 ward chairmen, secretaries and women leaders of APGA in Abia State have passed a vote of confidence on the State Working Committee of the party.
The party stakeholders made their resolution on Thursday at the party state secretariat in Umuahia the state capital.
While giving the resolution of the party the ward chairman in Umuimehe Bende Comrade Divine Namdi said primary elections were conducted in an atmosphere of due process and internal democracy, describing it as the freest primaries of APGA held in the state. “Our mission is to stand by our candidate to procecute the general election to a conclusive aim,we believe in a new brand of Abia”.
The Aba South Youth leader Ukpai Kalu,the woman leader Aba south Ezinne Juliet Okonkwo and the Obingwa LGA Chairman Joshua Chidiebere while speaking said the primary election went free and fair adding that the primaries is not the problem rather the main election, urging the party members to come out in mass and vote for their candidate.
The leader of APGA in Abia, Representative of Aba South House of Assembly,Mazi Obinna Ichita said the primaries was free and fair and the party elected a standard flag bearer Prof. Greg Ibe adding that the party will exhibit exceptional level of internal democracy. “I Appreciate you all for your solidarity and vote of confidence passed on the leadership of the Party”.
A stakeholder of APGA from Igbere ward Mrs Ugochi Anyaele congratulated the candidate of the Party and thanked the state working committee for making sure the primaries were done peacefully, adding that the party women will put their best to see that things work out well in the party.
Speaking on behalf of the 17 LGA party Secretaries,the Ikwuano Secretary Hon Nduka Izuchukwu said the primaries conducted recently was done in a free and fair manner with respect to internal democracy adding that the primaries is the freeiest primaries of the party in the state and to the admiration of all. “We are conscious of the popular quest for the change of government in the state”,we therefore all just to chanel all energy and resources to procecute the election to a conclusive end and get the victory for the party at the general election”.
The Party State Chairman Rev Augustine Ehiemere while Addressing newsmen said the party has confirmed that the primaries that brought Prof Greg Ibe was free and fair, confirming him as the right candidate for the 2023 General election and there was no objection concerning the election adding that the aspirants in court should return and join the party to support all the candidate’s of the party come 2023.
Speaking earlier the party state chairman Ehiemere said the party is on a divine mission to fulfill a divine mandate and nothing comes easy in life “we are aware of the plots of political jobers in connection with the party in power to rob us our victory come 2023,but I promise them with you together we shall resist it at all cost” He also appealed to the other aspirants that could not make it in the primaries to come together and support Prof Greg Ibe adding that those in court should withdraw and also support the parties candidate’s.
