Abia APC Fights Big As Deputy Chairman, Ukwa West Caucus Set For Punches

The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC Abia state chapter is far from over as the Deputy Chairman of the party in the state, Chief Ogunka Adiele John has been issued a stern warning to stop interfering with the affairs of Ukwa West LGA caucus of the party.

This is contained in a statement issued on Friday by Chief Alwell Enwereji Caretaker Comm. Chairman of the party in the local government and Comr. Ihuoma Dike, Caretaker Committee Secretary.

The Party says it is embarrassed by the action of the Deputy Chairman, calling on the general public to ignore the outcome of a purported Stakeholders meeting held on 16/2/21 at the instance of the State Deputy Chairman, Chief Ogunka Adiele John through a media aid to Chief Sir Marc Wabara a Chieftain of the Party from Ukwa East LGA without the consent of the LGA Party Caretaker Chairman or the Caretaker LGA Executive Committee.

“The LGA Leadership is therefore Using this medium to call on the Party faithful and the unsuspecting public to please disregard such information as it does not have the blessing of the APC Ukwa West LGA neither is it from our true patriotic stakeholders rather a very well-orchestrated script being played by some mischief makers hiding under the cloak of APC Ukwa West LGA Stakeholders to pursue their inordinate ulterior selfish desires to destroy and destabilize the Party in Ukwa West LGA and satisfy and pamper the ego of their paymaster,” it says.

It continues, “For the records, in Article 12.14(X1) (Composition of Party Organs/ LGA Caucus) of the APC Constitution Oct. 2014 as Amended, which reads “Such other members not exceeding six (Spread equitably across the wards) as may be co-opted or appointed by the LGA/Area Council Executive Committee of the Party”

“In line with this provision of the Constitution, the Ukwa West LGA has 10wards which practically has made it impossible to implement this provision of the constitution to the later. The LGA Executive Committee in her wisdom, therefore, decided to cO-opt into the LGA caucus the maximum 6 members according to the three zones that make up Ukwa West LGA, 2 persons each per zone, and to co-opt more members spread equitably across the wards in the expanded LGA Caucus. By the foregoing, the following members were co-opted into the LGA Caucus: equitably

The APC Ukwa West LGA, therefore, frowned at what it called the way and manner the office of the State Deputy Chairman of Party is being denigrated, ridiculed, and dragged to the mud on daily basis by the uncultured, untoward, and unbecoming characters, attitudes, and activities of the present occupant Chief Ogunka Adiele John.

“It is worthy to note that the immediate past State Deputy Chairman Chief George Nwancha is from Ukwa West LGA, and never did we witness or experience such divisiveness or highhandedness in any guise throughout his tenure as we are witnessing today.

“We, therefore, call on the Leadership of the Party in the State and Zone to please call the State Deputy Chairman and his co-travelers to order, advice him to as a matter of fact: Respect that exalted office of which he occupies. Allow the LGA Executive Committee carry out their given mandate without his unnecessary interference. Discontinue the parallel Party structure he is running in the LGA”

All efforts by ABN TV to reach the Deputy Chairman, Chief Ogunka Adiele John for comment as at the moment of this report proved abortive.
