Abia 2023: Uche Ogah Denies Meeting With Adamu To Work For Ikechi Emenike’s Victory

Factional governorship candidate of APC in Abia State, Dr Uche Ogah has denied meeting with the national chairman of the party, Sen. Abdulahi Adamu where he reached an agreement with him to work for High Chief Ikechi Emenike who is also laying claim to the party’s ticket ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Ogah through the media wing of his political support group, Abia Rejoice Movement was responding to an online publication alleging a meeting between Ogah and Adamu.

Uche Ogah, the immediate past Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development had in a direct primary election of the party in May this year polled 141,952 votes to beat his closest rival, Paul Ikonne who scored 27,054.

Other gubernatorial aspirants include, Chief Ikechi Emenike who polled 9,446, Emeka Atuma with 7,429, Obinna Oriaku with 5,553, Alex Otti scored 2,41, and Daniel Eke who got 1,953

The statement on Friday described Emenike as a usurper, insisting that there is no meeting between Ogah and Adamu where the former agreed to work for Emenike.

According to the statements, “such news as has been put out, are definitely by sponsored disgruntled elements and traducers whose interests were to ensure APC does not participate in the forthcoming gubernatorial elections in Abia State, insisting that they must be challenged to bring their antics to a complete halt.

“Any meetings between the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress and a former minister of the state of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah will definitely be communicated to those with the rightful clearance on a need-to-know basis and will also be communicated to members of the press in accordance to dictates of democratic principles.

The statement further reiterated that Dr Uche Sampson Ogah never met with the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Abdullahi Adamu to discuss anything regarding the forthcoming gubernatorial elections in Abia State and certainly not in the last month.

It would be recalled that High Chief Emenike had in an indirect primary emerged the party’s gubernatorial flag bearer, creating two candidates for the same party.

The party few days to the primary election enlisted Abia, Benue and Osun for direct primaries.

The party has since submitted the name and details of High Chief Emenike who emerged through indirect primary as its governorship candidate.
