As the March 27, 2021, bye-election election for Aba Noth/South federal constituency draws nearer, the APC candidate in the 2019 election, Hon. Mascot Uzor Kalu has continued to receive the support of people of Aba to fill the position.
Recall that the seat had become vacant following the death it Representative Ossy Prestige who passed on earlier in the year in a German hospital after a protracted illness.
Leaders of various youth bodies on the constituency on Wednesday took to the streets of Aba to demonstrate their support for the former Chief of Staff in Abia.
They are urging him to contest in the forthcoming election to consolidate on the gains of the former representative, Hon. Ossy Prestige.

In a chat with our correspondent during the solidarity march, one of the supporters of Hon. Mascot Uzor Kalu who gave his name as Mr. Clement revealed that they have come on behalf of the youths of Aba North and South Federal Constituency whom they have their mandate to appeal to Hon. Mascot Uzor Kalu to contest for the bye-election.
He explained that they are in a sorrowful mood as a result of the demise of their representative Hon. Ossy Prestige, whom he described as a visionary leader.
He added that the choice of Hon. Mascot Uzor Kalu follows due consideration, consultation, and thorough search, saying he is the most qualified candidate to represent Aba North and South Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives.
Another constituent, Eng. Emeka Iroanya explained that Hon. Mascot Uzor Kalu has shown great interest in developing the youths of Aba North and South Federal Constituency through his philanthropic gestures.
He revealed that the youths of Aba North and South will give him all necessary support should he declare interest to contest for the Rep. Seat of Aba North and South Federal Constituency.
