A 62-year-old old man, Linus Onyewuchi Anyanwu has reportedly died in the custody of police in Imo state after he was detained along with his daughter, Eberechi Anyanwu 21 who is now cooling off in Suleja medium prison.
ABN TV reports that a man who gave his name as Theodore Chinonso Uba aka NonsoNkwa of Ozisa 96.1 FM Owerri Imo State in a social media post had alleged that Mr. Anyanwu and his daughter were arrested since 17th of May 2021 at Emii Owerri North LGA, Imo State by the men of Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the Imo state police command.
According to him, the police had denied knowledge of the whereabouts of the father and daughter.
After so much pressure, the police were said to have allowed the family to visit the 21-year-old Eberechi but the father was not seen.

He said, “At first, the police denied that father and daughter are not in their custody but when we exposed them, they gave in which prompted the family to visit the police station and saw the 21yr old Melody without seeing the father.
“The lawyer and the only son of the man have been on this case for the past 4 months now, yet the police refused to either charge them to a court or release them..
“Just this morning, Melody called her brother that she is currently in Prison in far away Suleja Niger state and that their dad died in police custody at the Imo state police command and the body deposited at FMC mortuary Owerri…
“Now the family is shattered!!!
“I beckon on all well-meaning Imolites and Nigerians especially human rights groups to assist in the release of this young lady before she is finally destroyed mentally and physically.”
