The Abia State Police Command, in collaboration with the Behind Bars Human Rights Team, made a disturbing arrest today, ABN TV reports.
A 46-year-old father, Christopher Ugwunna Azubuike, from Uratta Amaogwugwu, Isialangwa North Local Government Area, was taken into custody for allegedly defiling his only daughter, aged just 1 year and 9 months, conceived after 5 years of marriage.
According to reports, medical examinations conducted at two separate hospitals in Aba confirmed injuries consistent with defilement.
The suspect is currently in police custody, and the case is under investigation.
The authorities have not released further details at this time.
