A Port Harcourt magistrate court has remanded one David Olufemi Alonge at the Port Harcourt correctional centre for alleged defilement of a 3-year-old female child by inserting finger, manhood in her private part.
David Alonge, a teacher at the Rarykene International school, Rumuodumaya in Obio Akpor Local Government Area was arraigned for allegedly defiling the 3 years old pupil of the school by Inserting his finger and manhood into her private part thereby committing an offence punishable under section 33 sub section one of the Rivers State Child’s Right Law number 6 of 2022 .
The suspect did not take plea yesterday on arraignment as the charge was not read to him following an existing legal advice from the office of the Attorney General that such offence for which the accused person was being charged for should be tried under section 32 sub 2 of the child right law of Rivers State.
Chief Magistrate Ogeh thereby directed that the accused person be remanded at the correctional centre and adjourned the case to 6th of September for proper arraignment of the suspect at the State High Court.
