A 29-year-old Izuchukwu Mbakwe staff of De Choice Eatery in Umuahia, Abia State killed by vigilante operatives has been laid to rest in his country home amidst tears.
He was killed following the disappearance of a “Nokia Torch” phone in the company which the late Izuchukwu was alleged to have stolen, an allegation he denied before he was killed.
In the ensuing argument, the guards were said to have stripped the suspect naked, beat him to a stupor, and shot him at his lap at close range with a Pump Action Riffle, which affected his Femoral Artery.
He was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia where he was later pronounced dead.
When ABN TV contacted the management of De Choice, said it is committed to ensuring peace, saying that it would make an official statement to that effect.
During his burial on Friday, friends of the Dubai returnee came in large numbers at his Umuosu Okaiuga Nkwoegwu in Ohuhu Umuahia home to pay their last respect.
They spoke glowingly of their departed friend whom they described as a peaceful man full of talent.
They expressed sadness that he was mauled down in such circumstances, praying for the peaceful repose of his soul.
