A former Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Lagos State, Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has announced his intention to contest the 2027 Lagos governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
Adediran, who defected back to the APC in March, two weeks after leaving the PDP, was a challenger to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the 2023 governorship election, where he ran alongside Nollywood filmmaker, Funke Akindele, as his deputy governorship candidate.
Speaking with Vanguard during Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, Jandor pledged his support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term ambition, insisting that the President deserved another term to consolidate on his achievements.
“As for Lagos State, I am offering myself once again to serve. I’m indeed running for the Lagos governorship race in 2027,” he declared, dismissing speculations about other possible contenders, including Seyi Tinubu, the President’s son, and former governor Akinwunmi Ambode
