2023 Presidency: Northern Youths Urge APC To Adopt Ahmed Lawan As Consensus Candidate

Ahmed Lawan

A coalition of northern group under the auspices of Arewa Youths Ambassadors (AYA) has thrown its weight behind the aspiration of the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, for 2023 Presidency.

The group in their support expressed support the Senate President to become the next president of the country.

This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the National Coordinator Aliyu Muhammad; Acting Secretary General, Abdulkadir Rabiu; National Organising Secretary, Ibrahim Shehu, and the Director of Media and Publicity, Waziri Biu, in Abuja on Monday.

The group described Lawan as the best presidential material for the 2023 general election.

It urged the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to commence a process of adopting him as the sole candidate of the party.

Lawan’s managerial skill, experience and national appeal put him in the best position to rule Nigeria in 2023,” the group said in the statement.

The group noted that, it “may sound odd in the eyes of Nigerians especially those southerners nursing the intention to run for the number one seat in the land.

“Be that as it may, Lawan’s acceptability demonstrates the settled resolve of the youths in the 19 northern states to support him to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Lawan is a results-oriented leader with a proven track record that can sustain and consolidate the gains recorded by the current administration.

“Lawan is the best bet for the APC in 2023. He is a presidential material with vast experience to turn the nation around .

“Lawan being a North-Eastner is eminently qualified to rule Nigeria. The North East just like our brothers in the South East geo-political zone is grossly marginalized.”
