Dr. Maurice Okoli has urged supporters of Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi to establish an effective structure ahead of the 2023 elections.
The President of the Nigerian Community in Russia gave the counsel in a statement on Sunday.
Obi faces a tough battle against Bola Tinubu, All Progressives Congress (APC); Atiku Abubakar, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); Rabiu Kwankwaso, New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
Okoli stressed that the youth-led Obidient Movement would not deliver the expected results if it was not well-coordinated.
The scholar said the axiom that the people are the structures is self-evident truth but not an established rule and principle.
“In such a movement, you have to know who is accountable, what you expect, and from whom.
“In the absence of that, things will happen unpredictably, and the unpredictable result could be something you don’t like.
“The Obidient movement needs an effective and efficient structure that can deliver the goal of winning a national election.”
Okoli is a fellow of the Institute for African Studies Academy of Sciences, Russia, and the Institute of World Economy and International Relations Academy of Sciences, Russia.
