Ahead of the state’s general elections, the Niger State branch of the Nigeria Labour Congress has threatened to discipline any civil official who willfully refuses to obtain a Permanent Voters Card (PVC).
Comrade Idris Lakpene, the state NLC chairman, issued the warning in Minna and stated that those who disobey will either be unable to collect their salary or face suspension.
The country’s residents should take their civic role seriously, the chairman criticized.
We are thinking of a strategy to prevent state employees without PVCs from receiving their monthly paychecks, according to Lakpene.

Additionally, he called for full political participation by the state’s government servants, saying that doing so would “allow us to pick leaders that can better our working circumstances and bring significant growth to our state.”
