Youths in the country have been advised not to allow themselves to be used by politicians for their selfish reasons in the 2023 general elections.
The Convener, Dialogue, and Conflict Mediation, Dahiru Abubakar, while speaking at a one-day lecture organized by Munzaifad Care Foundation, in collaboration with Cardinal John Onaiyekan Foundation, enjoined youths to eschew violence and work for peace and unity of the country.
He opined that the top-class people usually were the ones that cause this type of violence, saying that they would neither go nor send their children.

According to him, they (politicians) would just organize those from the lower class to start harassing other people, saying that if they would not use their children, then they must stop destroying other people’s children.
The Convener believes, “Politics is a game of number, come out and get your own number, it is not a game of violence.”
Also advising the youths, Alhaji Abdullahi Hussaini noted that youths were the most vulnerable, saying that a lot was needed to ensure they were protected.
According to him, the era of using motorcycles for empowerment to hoodwink them into nefarious activities should be over, while calling on politicians to change the narratives for a better future for the country.
