2023: Abia People’s Organization Endorses Mascot Uzor-Kalu As Guber Candidate, Promises 50,000 Votes

A socio-political group, Abia People’s Organization (APO) has endorsed the governorship candidate of Action Peoples Party (APP), Chief Mascot Uzor-Kalu for the 2023 gubernatorial election in the state.

APO executives, arising from a meeting with Chief Kalu at the home of High Chief Amenze Udenze in Umule, Ohuhu of Umuahia North L.G.A, on Wednesday unanimously agreed to support the APP governorship candidate.

In his address, Chief Udenze, founder of APO, on behalf of the members of the organization, stated that his organization is ready to give APP at least 50,000 votes in Umuahia.

“We will work in synergy with your party, APP, and you will see our impact in Umuahia and beyond. APO is full of grassroots politicians, and we are like the Jehovah’s Witnesses of this season. So we will spread the good news, convert souls for you, and at least give you 50,000 votes in Umuahia.

Speaking further, he acknowledged that, while there is a governorship candidate of Umuahia descent, Abian’ interests would be better protected under the government of Chief Kalu, whom he described as a better candidate capable of transforming Abia state.

In his response, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu appreciated the group and asked them to go all-out to support him as his party is coming out to change the narrative of Abia.

“We are coming with actions, just like our party’s name implies, to change the narrative of the state. So come out in full force and support us.”

He went on to inundate them with his manifesto, which includes but was not limited to: the construction of at least 10—15 KM of new roads; the building of a minimum of five health centres in every L.G.A; the restoration of prompt workers’ payment; free primary and secondary education, etc.

As an organization, APO has members and branches across the seventeen L.G.As of Abia state.
