Ahead of 2023 general election, a group in the APC fold, the Youths For Progressive Alliance (YFPA) has accused the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Abia state of plotting to instigate crisis within the ranks of the APC.
According to the group, PDP-led government in Abia has been sponsoring what it called fallacious and incitive media publications to undermine the APC and its growing popularity.
The APC group insists that the ruling PDP is committing efforts to ensure it divides the party and cause disaffection among members ahead of the 2023 general elections.
YFPA in a statement made available to ABN TV signed by its President, Comrade Emmanuel Nwabuko and the Publicity Secretary, Chinedu Emereuwa on Monday vowed that no amount of sponsored media attacks by the PDP government in Abia will deter APC from sacking the party, maintaining that the people of the state are tired and fed up with with it called draconian policies of the PDP that have impoverished the state.
The APC youths said the party is repositioned to bring the needed change in every sector of governance in Abia, expressing regret that the current administration in the state has lost focus towards addressing fundamental problems facing the people.
The group however urged Abians to disregard what it called the antics of the PDP, accusing it of attempting to destabilize the All Progressive Congress through the instrumentality of media.
YFPA reaffirmed that the Nigerian Minister of States, Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah and the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu remain great leaders of the APC, insists that there is no feud existing among the party chieftains as being speculated in some sections of the media.
