The Commander 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Nsikak Edet on Friday 15 September 2023 paid a condolence visit to commiserate with the family of late Zakari Maduka popularly known as Power Zack in his hometown Akpuka-Uturu in Isiukwuato Local Government Area of Abia State.
Maduka, a chieftain of Labour Party was killed on Wednesday night by yet-to-be-identified assailants at his ancestral home around 8:30pm on Wednesday 13 September 2023.
He expressed dismay over the gruesome and cannibalistic killing of the Elder Statesman.
General Edet informed the family members that the perpetrators of this acts will surely be brought to book and will definitely face he consequences of their evil and inhumane acts .
He stated that all security agencies will work in synergy in order to do all it takes to ensure the assailants and perpetrators of this callous act are fished out.
He enjoined the family to take solace in God and prayed for the repose and eternal rest of the soul of the highly patriotic elder Statesman who gave all towards enhancing the security of lives and property of his community.
Until his untimely death, he was also the Head of Vigilante Group of Uturu and Agueleri both in Isiukwuato Local Government Area of Abia State.
Earlier, the Brigade Commander met with some members of vigilantee group and the Divisional Police Officer at Uturu and brainstormed some strategies of curbing such inhumane attacks and forestall future occurrences.
General Edet also called on the good and loving citizens of Abia State to cooperate with security agencies by giving credible, reliable and timely information that will assist in fight against all acts of criminality by unpatriotic elements in the State and environs.
