Senator representing Abia North, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu has reiterated his commitment to enhance the people’s living standard by attracting road and power projects.

According to the former Abia governor, when power is added to other infrastructure, particularly roads, it can lubricate the economy.

Speaking with newsmen on Friday while taking the Minister of Power, Engr Saleh Mamman, high-level officials of Ministry of Power & Housing and Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) round a power plant in Arochukwu local government area of the state and Sub-stations in Ohafia and Isuikwuato LGAs, Sen. Kalu said the APC government is committed to delivering democratic dividends to Nigerians.

While revealing that he commenced the construction of the power plant far back in 1999 when he was the governor, he berated the PDP governments in the state for not completing the project.

He added that the federal government is making the reactivation of all dormant power plants across the country a priority.

Sen. Kalu thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for what he has done for the people of South East region.

He expressed optimism that in the next one or two years, people of the area will be enjoying a constant power supply.
