Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has said he didn’t threaten #EndSARS protesters in the state with military resistance.
This is following an online publication where the Governor was quoted to have said those who deviate from the #EndSARS protest to talk about bad roads in the state will face military resistance.
The governor in a tweet through the Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu stated that the governor never granted any such interview, accusing political actors of being behind the publication.
The Commissioner wrote;
“Fake News Alert!!!
@GovernorIkpeazu did not grant any interview to this effect. We know the political actors in Abia that are working hard to politicize the genuine protests of Nigeria youths. Our young people, who wish to, are free to join others in peaceful #EndsSARS protest.”
