The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Janet E. Agbede has warned politicians not to threaten the peaceful atmosphere in the state as local government election draws closer.
This is even as she reassured all Abians of Security of the readiness of the police to secure their lives property in these ember months.
In a statement issued on Friday by Spokesperson of the Police command, Ogbonna Geoffrey made available to ABN TV, the Commissioner of Police warned that the security agencies will not hesitate to clamp down on any individual or group attempting to scuttle the electoral process.
“Politicians are enjoined not to heat up the polity during the electioneering process. The Police and other Security Agencies in the State will not hesitate in clamping down on any person or group attempting to scuttle the electoral process or perpetrate any act/conduct capable of causing breach of the peace in the State.
“Meanwhile the security agents have been deployed across the state to ensure that there will be no loss of lives and property before, during, and after the election as well as the Yuletide period.
“Security is a collective responsibility, volunteer promptly credible information that would enhance the productivity of the law enforcement agents”.
