The Abia state governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has made a public timetable for the distribution of food palliatives on the 17 Local government areas of the State.
This in a statement made available to ABN TV, signed by the State Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu is furtherance of the state government’s ongoing delivery of food and personal protective items to vulnerable persons in the state,
The distribution of food palliatives to all communities in the state will proceed through the local governments.
They are as follows:
A. Tuesday, 28th April 2020
Time: 12 noon
Venue: Food Bank, Office of Wife of the Governor, Government House, Umuahia.

3. Isiala Ngwa North
4. Ikwuano
5. Ohafia
6. Umunneochi

The release also added, “Concerned Transition Council Chairmen are expected to come with appropriate vehicles to collect the items for their LGAs. The items which are strictly for vulnerable persons such as widows, persons living with disabilities, tricycle (Keke) and other commercial transporters, etc, are to be distributed in conjunction with Traditional Rulers, Presidents General, Women, and Youth Leaders of the communities within the LGA.
“While we are aware that the items may not be enough for all those who need them, we wish to encourage well to do individuals in all our communities to support our people in this trying time.”
