Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has promised a more impactful second term in office, as he expressed gratitude to God for what he described as the achievements recorded by his administration in its first four years.
Oyebanji attributed the administration’s achievements to God’s benevolence and the support of President Bola Tinubu, while expressing confidence that the next four years would bring greater progress to the state.
The governor, according to a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, spoke while rounding off a special praise session tagged “Eight Hours of Praise”, organised as part of activities marking the end of his first term and his inauguration for a second term.
Oyebanji will be inaugurated for a second term on Friday, October 16, having been re-elected in the June 20 governorship election in the state.
Speaking on his expectations for the next four years, Oyebanji said, “With God’s grace and support of the people, my second term will be far more impactful than the first”.
The governor said he would never tire of offering praise and worship to God for His awesomeness and presence in the affairs of the state.
Addressing the large congregation of worshippers, government officials, political leaders and other Ekiti people at the event, Oyebanji said the journey of his administration over the past four years was evidence of divine grace.
He said, “I actually don’t have much to say today other than to explain the reason I chose to have this ‘Eight hours of praise worship’ to God. When they were crafting the programmes for the inauguration, I told my wife that the only thing I wanted, and that is extremely important, is eight hours of quality praise and worship to God. Four hours for the last four years and another four hours for the next four years”.
