Spanish giants Barcelona have signed Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal for a reported fee of £8.6m (€10m), as he penned a deal until June 2029, BBC Sport reported on Tuesday.
The striker had drawn interest from Napoli before completing his medical on Monday.
Jesus, who arrived at Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022, registered 32 goals and made 22 assists in 123 appearances for the North London outfit.
He, however, fell down the pecking order of Coach Mikel Arteta’s preferred strikers, as he faced stiff competition from Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres.
Jesus becomes the third signing from a Premier League club this summer, as the La Liga defending champions continue to bolster their squad depth. He also joins other summer signings: Karim Adeyemi, Jesse Bisiwu, Joao Cancelo, and Dominik Livakovic.
The Brazilian joins Anthony Gordon from Newcastle and former Ballon d’Or winner Rodri from Manchester City.

Born in São Paulo, Brazil, on 3 April 1997, Gabriel Jesus began his footballing career in his hometown with Anhanguera. Then he made the move to the youth system of one of the country’s biggest clubs, Palmeiras of São Paulo. He made his debut for the team in March of 2015, winning the cup in 2015 and the league in 2016, and also was named best player in the Brazilian league in 2016,” Barcelona said in a club statement on Tuesday.
Barcelona noted that Jesus’ outstanding performances in Brazil earned him a move to Europe, and in the summer of 2016, he signed for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. He made a total of 236 appearances for the Citizens, scoring 95 goals and providing 45 assists.
During his time with the Sky Blues, he won four Premier League titles (2017/18, 2018/19, 2020/21, and 2021/22), one FA Cup (2018/19), four League Cups (2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20, and 2020/21), and two Community Shields (2018 and 2019).
In July 2022, he signed for Arsenal, where he went on to make 123 appearances, scoring 32 goals and providing 22 assists. In January 2025, he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury, which kept him sidelined until December.
He later helped the Gunners win the 2025/26 Premier League title, scoring three goals in 14 appearances.
At the international level, Jesus began his career with Brazil’s youth teams, specifically the U20 side. He was also part of the squad that won the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, contributing three goals during the tournament.
He made his debut for the senior Brazil national team in September 2016 and was subsequently selected for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups.
