Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has congratulated the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Umuahia, Prof. Azubuike Onyebuchi, on the occasion of his birthday.
In a goodwill message issued on Friday, Governor Otti described Prof. Onyebuchi as an illustrious Abian, accomplished medical doctor, academic and thoroughbred professional who has distinguished himself in medical practice and administration.
The Governor expressed gratitude to God for sustaining the CMD in good health and commended his contributions to the growth and development of FMC Umuahia, particularly the reforms and infrastructure upgrades recorded under his leadership.
According to Otti, the improvements at the medical institution have positively impacted healthcare delivery and the experiences of patients seeking treatment at the facility.
“I feel glad to rejoice with a friend, an illustrious Abian and thoroughbred medical professional, the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre, Prof. Azubuike Onyebuchi, as he marks the occasion of his birthday.
“Without doubt, Prof. Onyebuchi has distinguished himself as a medical doctor, initiating reforms and infrastructure upgrades that have impacted positively on patients. Indeed, his giant strides and accomplishments are heartwarming and commendable. I therefore enjoin him to continue to impact society more positively,” the Governor stated.
Governor Otti also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the comprehensive transformation of Abia State’s healthcare system, noting that Prof. Onyebuchi shares the vision of improving healthcare delivery and protecting lives.
He further pledged his administration’s continued support for strategic public institutions such as FMC Umuahia, stressing their critical role in providing essential healthcare services to residents of Abia State and beyond.
