The Dr. Christopher Irobunda Foundation (DCIF) has unveiled a series of community-focused programmes scheduled for August 2026, with activities spanning healthcare, youth empowerment, support for persons with special needs, community development and infrastructure.
The Foundation is expected to formally present details of the initiatives during a media press conference scheduled for Thursday, August 13, 2026, at No. 2 Dr. Christopher Chinedum Irobunda Road, Okwuta Ibeku, Abia State, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
According to a media brief issued ahead of the event, the press conference will formally introduce the Foundation to journalists, provide information about its activities and upcoming initiatives, and create an avenue for engagement between the media and the Foundation’s leadership.
DCIF described itself as a community-focused organisation committed to creating meaningful opportunities and improving lives through interventions in healthcare, youth empowerment, education, community development and other areas of social impact.
The Foundation said its programmes are designed to respond to immediate community needs while also contributing to sustainable, long-term development, particularly for young people and underserved groups.
As part of its August programme calendar, DCIF has scheduled a groundbreaking ceremony for August 15, followed by a medical outreach on August 17.
A Special Needs Outreach is slated for August 19, while the Foundation’s Youth and Community Empowerment Conference, tagged YACE 2026, will take place on August 21. The activities will climax with a Thanksgiving Service on August 23.
One of the major highlights of the programme is YACE 2026, themed “Hope Beyond Limits.”
According to the Foundation, the conference is designed to inspire young people and members of the community to overcome limitations through discussions centred on purpose, leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship and personal development.
The press conference will also provide an opportunity for DCIF to introduce the objectives, speakers, panellists and expected outcomes of the youth conference ahead of the main event.
The Foundation said the media briefing would be interactive, allowing journalists to engage directly with its Founder, Dr. Christopher Irobunda, and members of the organising team on the Foundation’s vision, programmes, expected community impact and future plans.
Journalists will also have opportunities for one-on-one interviews with the Founder and designated representatives after the main briefing.
Activities expected at the press conference include welcome and opening remarks, an address by Dr. Irobunda, presentation of the August programme calendar, an overview of YACE 2026, an interactive question-and-answer session, interviews, official photographs and networking.
DCIF said it recognises the important role of the media in informing the public, amplifying community initiatives and promoting accountability, expressing its readiness to build a meaningful working relationship with media organisations as it expands its interventions.
The Foundation’s Media and Public Relations representative, Lewis Precious Psoma, encouraged participating journalists to come prepared to engage the organisation on its programmes, vision, community impact and plans for future interventions.
The August programme rollout is expected to bring together beneficiaries, young people, community stakeholders and other participants as DCIF intensifies its drive towards community development and social impact in Abia State.
