The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has pledged to provide watertight security during Eid-el-Kabir festivities as it deploys no fewer than 3,250 personnel in the state.

This is contained in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, a copy of which was made available to The PUNCH on Monday.

The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has completed all the necessary arrangements to provide watertight security during Eid-el-Kabir festivities in the state,” the statement said.

It added that special security attention will be paid to various Eid prayer grounds, recreational centers, and public places where people converge to celebrate the Eid.

“In addition, security is to be tightened around sites with critical national assets and infrastructure. The Corps Rapid Response Squad during the period will intensify surveillance and patrol and respond to emergencies when needed.

“We are also to work in synergy and collaboration with all security agencies to achieve the desired result,” the statement added.

The corps therefore warned thugs and criminal elements to shun criminality and give peace a chance, noting that it will not condone any breach of public peace and will deal with miscreants and enemies of peace in accordance with the law.
