The Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah, has approved the intake of the third batch of beneficiaries for his fully-funded scholarship programme targeted at prospective students seeking admission into the Abia State College of Health Sciences and Management Technology, Aba, for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The scholarship initiative, organized through the Hon. Amobi Ogah Education Foundation, is aimed at supporting indigent but academically qualified students from Isuikwuato and Umunneochi to pursue careers in medical and health-related fields.
According to a statement signed by the Director-General of the Foundation, Promise Udeh, the scholarship opportunity is open strictly to indigenes of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency who possess the required academic qualifications.
Applicants are expected to have at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, alongside three other relevant subjects in either WAEC, NECO, or NBTE examinations. Candidates awaiting O’Level results are not eligible for the programme.
The Foundation disclosed that a qualifying examination will be conducted across designated centres in Uturu, Isuikwuato, Nneato, Isuochi, and Umuchieze between July 10 and July 11, 2026.
The statement emphasized that the scholarship selection process will remain strictly merit-based, noting that only the first and second highest scoring candidates from each of the 22 wards in Isuikwuato and Umunneochi would emerge as beneficiaries.
“In line with our tradition of promoting academic excellence, the selection process will ensure equal opportunity for all wards while maintaining strict merit standards,” the Foundation stated.
The scholarship covers candidates seeking admission into both the ND and HND programmes of the institution.
Hon. Ogah’s education support initiative has continued to receive commendation from stakeholders across the constituency, with many describing it as a major investment in human capital development and youth empowerment.
The lawmaker has consistently emphasized the importance of education and healthcare training as critical tools for community development and sustainable economic growth.
Interested applicants have been advised to follow the Foundation’s official communication channels for further details regarding available courses and examination guidelines.
