A former assistant to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, said that the Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde‘s presidential proclamation favors the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Ahmad said this in a post on his verified X handle on Thursday shortly after Makinde’s declaration.
According to DAILY POST, ABNTV reported that Makinde on Thursday officially declared his intention to contest for the presidency in the 2027 general elections.
Makinde made the announcement at a grand rally of the PDP–APM Alliance held in Ibadan, Oyo State’s capital.
The declaration, which drew a large crowd of party supporters, stakeholders, and political allies, marks a significant moment in the unfolding political realignments ahead of the next general election cycle.
Reacting, Ahmad said, “I just read that Governor Seyi Makinde has declared his intention to contest the presidency in the 2027 general elections.
“Well, for our great party, the APC, the more the merrier.”
