A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Buba Galadima, has said President Bola Tinubu would lose the 2027 election even under unlikely circumstances.

Galadima made the remark on Tuesday while speaking at the party’s convention, where he criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and its handling of opposition parties.

“I want to remind them that even if there is no living human being in Nigeria, and we bring a corpse in a coffin and put him against President Tinubu, I assure you the corpse will win the election in 2027,” he said.

He alleged that the APC-led government had attempted to weaken opposition parties, including the PDP, SDP, NNPP, Labour Party and ADC.

“I want to touch on one important point: we have seen that the APC and its government have tried to destroy the PDP, SDP, NNPP, Labour Party and the ADC,” he added.

“So any attempt to intimidate or frustrate us, we must withstand and say no. It’s only our ‘no’, resilience, and courage that will deliver us from the mafioso in government.”

He also added that the party holding its convention despite alleged attempts from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) shows that the party won’t allow anybody in the country to dictate how political behaviour should be.
