China has called for an immediate end to hostilities in the Middle East following remarks by US President Donald Trump warning of intensified military action against Iran.

Beijing stressed that military force cannot resolve the deepening conflict and urged all parties to de-escalate tensions without delay.

“Military means cannot fundamentally solve the problem, and the escalation of conflicts is not in the interests of either side,” said foreign ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning at a press briefing.

She called on all involved parties to “immediately cease military operations,” warning that continued fighting would further destabilise the region.

China’s appeal comes amid growing international concern over the expanding conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran, and the broader risks to global security and energy markets.
