US President Donald Trump has said the United States and Israel’s military campaign against Iran is nearing completion but warned that Iran will face “extremely hard” strikes over the next two to three weeks.
In his first national address since the outbreak of the conflict, Trump said the operation was advancing toward its core objectives, insisting the US was “on track” to achieve its military goals “very shortly.”
“Thanks to the progress we’ve made, we are on track to complete all of America’s military objectives,” he said from the White House.
However, he cautioned that the coming weeks would involve intensified attacks. “We are going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks,” Trump added.
The US president also reassured regional allies — including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain — that Washington would prevent them from being overwhelmed by Iranian strikes.
Trump suggested that diplomatic engagement could still be possible with Iran’s current leadership, which he described as more moderate than its predecessor, while also hinting at continued military pressure if no agreement is reached.
He warned that US forces were monitoring strategic infrastructure targets, including Iran’s power facilities, if the conflict drags on without resolution.
The remarks come amid rising global tension, with energy markets reacting sharply and oil prices surging due to instability around the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route.
Iran has rejected US calls for a ceasefire, with officials describing Washington’s conditions as “unreasonable,” while insisting that there is no direct negotiation underway.
The conflict, which escalated after coordinated US-Israeli strikes on Iranian targets, has triggered retaliatory missile and drone attacks across the region, affecting Israel and several US-linked military sites in the Gulf.
As the war intensifies, both sides continue to trade strikes, raising fears of a wider regional escalation with global economic consequences.
