The Nigeria Union of Teachers has called on state governments across the country to implement the new minimum wage for teachers without delay, warning that the union may be forced to mobilise its members if the situation persists.
The National President of the union, Titus Amba, made the call on Monday at the 8th Quadrennial 19th State Conference of Delegates held in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Amba, who was represented by the union’s Social National Secretary, Titilope Adebanjo, said some states were yet to approve and implement the wage for teachers despite agreements reached.
“We still have some of our states that have yet to approve the recent minimum wage for our members. We will continue to appeal to them, but we will not just sit back.
