The All Progressives Congress, APC, has debunked a viral report detailing a purported “price list” for its expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued Saturday in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, described the price list as “fake news” designed to mislead the public.
The party clarified that it has not yet deliberated on, let alone announced, the costs for electoral forms for the next general election cycle.
“The APC states categorically that the report is fake, and did not emanate from the Party,
“To be clear, no decision or announcement has been made on the sale or pricing of forms for the 2027 elections. The report is a mere figment of the writer’s mischievous imagination.
“We urge Party members, the media, and the general public to disregard the report in its entirety,” the statement concluded.
A viral WhatsApp message had placed the cost of the presidential nomination and expression of interest forms at N200m and that of the State Assembly at N20m.
During the 2023 election cycle, the party faced scrutiny for setting the presidential nomination form price at N100 million, a move that triggered conversations about the cost of participation in Nigerian democracy.
