The Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Amobi Ogah, has warmly welcomed his colleague, Alex Mascot Ikwechegh, into the Labour Party following his recent defection from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Hon. Ogah, in his reaction, described Ikwechegh’s decision to join the Labour Party as a significant boost for the party’s growing influence in Abia State and the Southeast. He expressed optimism that the addition of the Aba North/Aba South federal lawmaker would strengthen the party’s representation and collective efforts toward delivering good governance and quality representation for the people.
The Isuikwuato/Umunneochi lawmaker noted that Ikwechegh’s political experience and grassroots connection in Aba would further consolidate the Labour Party’s presence in the state and contribute positively to the legislative work of the party’s members at the National Assembly.
According to him, the Labour Party remains committed to promoting people-oriented policies, transparency, and development across the country. He added that the party continues to attract progressive-minded leaders who are passionate about transforming their communities.
Hon. Ogah also assured that members of the Labour Party caucus in the National Assembly would continue to work together in advancing policies and initiatives that align with the aspirations of Nigerians.
The defection of Hon. Ikwechegh to the Labour Party has been described by political observers as another notable development in the evolving political landscape of Abia State.
